Hypervigilance and Avoidance

Creator Commentary

A nude woman floats back in space, her facial expression agitated and her limbs stretched out -- especially her arms, which are nearly the full length of her body. Her legs are barely corporeal, the curvature of the muscles turning into curlicues. Curved lines echo out from her face, like a multi-layer shield of stacked parentheses. Some contrasting lines intersect with the parenthesis shield that emanates from her.

I drew this piece using red and teal ink while stressed out. My stress reactions can be quite visceral, and this often shows up in my work through exaggerated limbs or pieces of my body not quite existing any longer.
